GP Summer Math Challenge

As summer approaches, here are some great math websites, challenges, programs, etc. that will help your child to continue learning math over the summer.

Current K-2 students: Continue to work on Happy Numbers using your log-in information if you have not completed your grade level work.

Current 3-4 students: Continue to work on Think Through Math/Imagine Math using your log-in information.

All interested K-4 students: There is a Summer Break Challenge from Greg Tang Math. Here is some information below about this.

Greg Tang’s Summer Break Math Challenge: ( During the break, students can go to to complete the activities on grade level game boards that parents can print. The additional game boards are on the site listed above. Students who complete the challenge can earn a certificate and a chance to win a personalized signed copy of one of Greg Tang’s books.

It is perfectly fine for students to get help from family member or someone else at home if they need it. They can also move to a harder or easier level of the game to make things more or less challenging. After your child completes a game board, parents can enter child for a chance to win a prize at the above website. Your child does not need to bring the game board back to school. This is an optional challenge that parents can coordinate at home.

GP Motivation for current K-3 students: Keep a Math Log over the summer for the minutes spent on the above math sites (similar to reading log). You can keep track of this on a piece of paper. Everyone working on math for 800 minutes or more will earn a prize. All students that turn in a Math Log will be recognized in Morning Assembly. Please turn your Math Log to your teacher the first week of school.

Below is an example of a math log. Please email if you have any questions.
