Traffic Updates
The contractor is ready to start the process to switch traffic through the intersection of Greens Prairie Trail and Royder Road. The contractor is ready to start the process to switch traffic through the intersection. This is happening a little later than we discussed because the contractor was able to complete a lot of work without the need for the shift. The process will take several days to get in place at the intersection. Below is a list and timeline of the setup. 1. Friday-- Contractor will modify signal operation and close pedestrian crossings across Royder. Signal will be in flash tentatively (9am-2pm) 2. Saturday thru mid-next week contractor will be restriping, placing cones and signage. 3. Mid-week (either Tuesday or Wednesday) we are scheduled to make the switch. Once the switch is in place I have confirmed that we will have an officer monitoring the intersection during school drop of and pick up for the first few days. We have also notified the crossing guard of the changes and the closed crosswalks. She will work to funnel kids to the open crosswalks. I have attached a graphic to hopefully help give people a better idea of what to expect in the intersection.

Map Assessment
Map Assessments
We are excited to share that this fall our students in grades K-8 will begin participating in an assessment program called MAP, which stands for Measures of Academic Progress. The MAP Growth assessment is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and is a computer-adaptive test. This means that if your child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next question is easier. This type of assessment challenges top performers without overwhelming students whose skills are below grade level. Unlike state mandated tests that provide a performance score after the school year is complete, MAP Growth measures what students know and gives us immediate feedback on what they’re ready to learn next. MAP Growth will be given three times each school year in the areas of Reading, Math, and Science. This will help provide information about your child’s academic progress throughout the year and will assist teachers in meeting students’ individual needs. Students in grades K-2 will also participate in MAP Reading Fluency, which assesses foundational reading skills, oral reading fluency, and comprehension. Because we are making some adjustments in how we assess reading for our early learners, you may notice that your child’s report card will no longer include a specific reading level using the A-Z letter system as it has in the past. Instead, you will receive a more comprehensive report of their reading levels and skills after they have participated in MAP. For more information, including a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document, we invite you to explore the MAP Resources for Parents website (link) or contact a campus administrator.
